‘Art is a way to express yourself freely and let out your emotions and your creative side. Everyone has their own way of looking at things, so art will never be wrong. That’s the freedom of it.’ KAM, 22, Springboard client
For many people during lockdown, art and creativity has been a lifeline. Programmes like Grayson’s Art Club have shown people that you don’t need to be classically trained to make meaningful art – and we want to share with you some of the immense skill and creativity our clients have demonstrated over the last year.
Since the Springboard Team haven’t been able to run our art club in person, we have been sharing our creative efforts remotely, and with the kind funding of the Berkeley Foundation, Comic Relief and Accumulate we have been able to provide art materials or software to clients wherever they are.
Art Club is starting again in July, run by our newest member of the Springboard Team, Amy von Lossberg, and at the brand new venue of the Salvation Army Wandsworth. We look forward to sharing more with you in months to come!
