This annual event, organised by Church Action on Poverty, Housing Justice and Scottish Churches Housing Action, has been running since 2008 and brings together two special Sundays which have been marked for many years:
Homelessness Sunday and Poverty Action Sunday.
The aims of Poverty and Homelessness Action Week are to raise awareness of the issues of poverty and homelessness in the UK, to raise funds for projects and campaigns which work in these areas, and to involve people in campaign actions.
On Sunday, 22nd of January, some local churches will raise the profile of homelessness in the area.
If you would like to organise a speaker from SPEAR for your event, please get in contact with the fundraising team.
Speaking in front of our supporters and potential future supporters is very important to us, as we are able to begin to build a long lasting relationships with the community. We love being able to share stories with supporters about the transformation SPEAR’s clients go through and how their help has a direct impact on their lives.
SPEAR benefit from the support of many schools, corporates, individuals, and other community groups.
Why not spend a few minutes thinking about what it might be like to be homeless and how you can help SPEAR on Homelessness Sunday?
