Peer Advocate Worker

We are looking for people that can support and assist our clients to attend appointments with services and advocate on their behalf if needed.

We are proud to announce that SPEAR have been awarded funding from the Big Lottery to continue our health link service which engages and supports rough sleepers with their mental and physical ill health needs. Helping them access services that are often difficult to access, meaning that they have poor access to health and social care services.

This service is delivered in the London boroughs of Kingston and Richmond in an outreach model in the community, working with homelessness providers and primary care health providers in those boroughs.

The service consists of a team leader, health link workers and peer advocates.

You will need to have great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as being able to able to build on the relationships we have with our clients and stakeholders as well as create new relationships that benefit the service users and SPEAR as an organisation.

We are particularly interested in candidates that may have a history of homelessness, or that come from a disadvantaged background and would like to kick start a career in social care.

This role is on a permanent basis working 22.5 hours per week.

SALARY: £12,943.50 per annum
WORKING HOURS: 22.5 hours per week
