Global’s Make Some Noise emergency appeal took place over three weeks in June to raise vital funds for small charities, including SPEAR, supporting communities hit hardest by coronavirus. The appeal was posted on billboards, shared on social media and broadcasted on Global’s radio stations. Many celebrities also took part by donating prizes to the online auction. The appeal has managed to raise over £1.7 million.
SPEAR’s clients gave interviews talking about their own experiences of homelessness, and staff reflected on how coronavirus has impacted working conditions. Some of the interviews were featured live on Capital FM, Heart, Captial Xtra and Classic FM. Here is a selection from the recordings:
