About Us

We are SPEAR, a charity dedicated to helping homeless people in South and West London find secure accommodation and work towards a positive future. For 30 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to support homeless people to recover from their personal issues and break down the barriers that they face. We recognise that homelessness is much more than just a housing issue, so we provide a range of accommodation and support services to help people reach their full potential.

We’re now looking for a Women’s support worker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

About YOU

You will have an understanding of the impact and strategies required to work effectively with clients who have been affected by domestic violence.
A creative and non-judgmental approach
An understanding of the issues faced by women who experience homelessness
The ability to plan and prioritise to ensure a safe environment where clients can regroup and ultimately move on and thrive

The Role

Effective liaison with other relevant agencies, professionals and stakeholders in order to ensure support around presenting issues such as substance misuse, physical or mental health.
Undertaking key-working and support planning to ensure that all identified needs are addressed
Supporting clients to manage a tenancy
Day to day management of the project including rota cover and some weekend working
