SPEAR has been providing quality services to homeless young people for over 30 years and we now have an opportunity to expand our provision for our young person’s service in West London
You will work in SPEAR’s services that provide a high quality, efficient and effective service to young people that are homeless. The young people accessing our services find it difficult to access statutory services, this role has been created to assist young people with meaningful and positive activities that encourage them to make positive life choices.
Working alongside the SPEAR young people’s accommodation services you will identify young people that would benefit from engaging with activities that build self-esteem and confidence.
Duties will include:
To provide an environment where the young people feel that positive life change is both within reach and achievable.
Organising and providing appropriate support/activities to young people that are using the SPEAR accommodation services
Effective liaison with other relevant agencies, professionals and stakeholders
In order to apply for this role you must have the following:-
An understanding of the issues that can lead to young people becoming homeless
Experience of organising social activities and engaging young people with sporting activities
An ability to think outside the box and arrange activities that will positively engage the young people using our services
The ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive manner
Ability to work professionally with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working as part of a team
Excellent planning and recording skills
SALARY: £15,000 per annum
WORKING HOURS: 22.5 hours per week
CLOSING DATE: 24th July 2019
INTERVIEW DATE: 6th August 2019
This is a two year fixed term contract.
