Accelerating action for gender equality in addressing homelessness

To mark International Women’s Day, we are focussing on the need for action for gender equality in addressing homelessness. This year’s theme resonates with our mission to support vulnerable individuals in South West London, including women experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

While homelessness affects people of all genders, the experiences of women sleeping rough are often distinct and uniquely challenging. Women are often at greater risk of violence, exploitation, and trauma on the streets, and may face additional barriers in accessing support services.

While women make up a smaller percentage of the overall homeless population, typically fewer than one in five people recorded as rough sleeping are female, their vulnerability is significantly heightened.

We recognise these gender-specific needs and are committed to providing tailored support to support women on their journey to independence. Our services include:

Help us to create a future where every woman has a safe place to call home.
